Corpus Christi en Sevilla
La comitiva comenzará a salir a las 8.15 horas desde la Puerta de San Miguel.
El Corpus Christi es la fiesta más antigua de Sevilla y fue la más importante de todas durante varios siglos. La procesión cuenta con pocas novedades significativas. Como novedad estará la presencia de los dos nuevos obispos auxiliares: Teodoro Muñoz León y Ramón Valdivia.
Desde las 7.30 horas de la mañana podrá accederse a la Catedral para participar en la eucaristía, pudiendo hacerse por San Miguel y el Bautismo hasta las 8.15 horas, instante del inicio de la procesión.
La procesión comenzará a salir a partir de las 8.15 horas de la tarde desde la Puerta de San Miguel. 15 minutos después, a las 8.30 horas, en el altar del Jubileo de la Catedral, dará inicio el pontifical presidido por José Ángel Saiz Meneses, arzobispo de Sevilla. Antes de la salida de la custodia, lo seises bailarán ante el Santísimo, estando estimada la salida en torno a las 10.30 horas.
Se estima la presencia en el cortejo entre 3.500 y 4.000 personas, siendo la procesión con mayor participación de todas cuanto se celebran en la ciudad durante todo el año. El Corpus tarda en pasar unas dos horas desde la salida de los carráncanos por San Miguel a la entrada de la custodia de Arfe por Palos. A la entrada, se procede a dar la bendición con el Santísimo en el altar del Jubileo de la Catedral.
El recorrido de la procesión es el tradicional, con la salida por San Miguel y siguiendo por la avenida de la Constitución, la plaza de San Francisco, Sierpes, Cerrajería, Cuna, Salvador, Villegas, Francos, Argote de Molina, Alemanes, cardenal Amigo Vallejo, plaza Virgen de los Reyes y entrada por la Puerta de Palos.
El Consejo de Cofradías ha dispuesto las tradicionales sillas por el recorrido del Corpus Christi a un precio único de 12 euros.
